Our Community Vision

In 2015 and 2016, IVCanDO and Rural Development Initiatives (RDI) helped guide hundreds of community members, business owners, volunteers, government employees, and regional stakeholders through a extensive strategic planning process, resulting in the IV 20/20 Vision & Strategic Plan. This community-led document highlights three main focus areas: People, Place, and Prosperity. The impact of this plan has been significant: our community has benefited from greater collaboration across all sectors, received significant funding for projects, and has strengthened advocacy for the Illinois Valley as a region.

In 2025, IVCanDO and RDI will be convening groups, asking questions, listening to ideas, concerns, and feedback from those living in the Illinois Valley to inform where we’ve been, where we are at, and where we are going as a community.
