Josephine County Fire Fuels Reduction

Tapping into a range of state and federal funds, Josephine County engaged IVCanDO for public outreach and contract management to remove dead brush and hazardous ladder fuels. Working on a neighborhood by neighborhood basis, the multi-year project treated hundreds of rural residential acres across the county.

Skagg Creek Ridge Project

Scope of Project: Establish Fuel Modifications Zone and Fuel Break that connects previous private landowner fuels treatment work along Takilma Rd., extending up the Ridge south of Skagg Ck. further tying into new projects on adjacent private property, as well as prior Hope Mtn Stewardship projects.

Purpose of Project: Wildfire Hazard Reduction to Establish 30ac Fuel Break on Skagg Ck Ridge.

Objectives:  Use collaborative approach within the Takilma community to create a Fuel Break on Skagg Ridge that will provide a Fuels Modification Zone to improve fire resiliency along the ridge landscape from the Longwood Fire of 1987 and to protect private properties to the North.
