Downtown Revitalization Project and Fire Suppression at IV Airport
IVCanDO proposed to the Josephine County Board of County Commissioners that the revenue from the sale of the County Building be invested in Illinois Valley economic development projects. Developing an adequate fire suppression system at the Illinois Valley Airport Industrial Park, which it needs to be eligible for investment and development, is a high priority. Also, because Public Safety emerged repeatedly as the number one priority of the majority of residents during the process of developing the IV 20/20 Strategic Plan, the proposal includes increases in security in downtown Cave Junction, which is a major concern of both business and residents. Improvements areas include downtown lighting, security cameras, curb appeal, and strategies to increase downtown foot traffic. Teams of stakeholders are forming now to research lighting design ideas and security camera options.
