Job opening: Project Assistant

Illinois Valley Community Development Organization (IVCanDO), Cave Junction, OR

Do you have a passion for supporting your neighbors, enjoy variety in your work, and embrace the spirit of the Illinois Valley? You could be the ideal candidate for IVCanDO’s Project Assistant. We are seeking an employee who embodies the “can do” attitude to assist with projects related to energy efficiency and infrastructure improvements in Josephine County. 

IVCanDO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to collaborative programs and inclusive partnerships. We champion sustainable development for vibrant economic, social, and cultural conditions. For over 25 years, we’ve danced with the heartbeat of the Valley. We’re a big-picture organization with 7 program areas that improve and change lives across communities of rural southwest Oregon.

The Project Assistant reports directly to the Project Manager and will be supported with on the job training, essential equipment and ongoing professional development. This position collaborates with IVCanDO staff, community partners and local residents. The staff member will work in a warm, respectful environment with quality team players. This person will also work directly with clients in their homes and must adhere to high standards of etiquette, respect and courtesy. 

  • Reliable transportation, auto insurance and driver’s license
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills (Google Apps, Zoom)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • General office management skills (filing, account management)
  • Extreme attention to detail
Other skills that are beneficial:
  • Nonprofit experience
  • Problem solving abilities

Position is 20 hours per week. Works in-person at the IVCanDO office and on site at local residences. Pay starts at $20 per hour. IRS rate for mileage and cell phone reimbursement will be provided.
