The 2025 Illinois Valley Strategic Plan Steering Committee held two stakeholder meetings to gather input about the planning process. Information was shared about about what needs to be included, who needs to be involved, and why community strategic planning is important. Stakeholders also had the opportunity to share their opinions about the previous Illinois Valley 20/20 Vision and Strategic Plan process, highlighting what went well and what needs to be improved.

Stakeholders are defined as people who influence or impact our community. The Steering Committee extended invitations to local leaders, organizations, small businesses, local government, government agencies, and school administration to participate.

In addition to providing feedback to the Steering Committee, stakeholders identified shared values to keep in mind throughout the planning process.

Next Steps

Taking into account the feedback received, the Steering Committee is finalizing the first community survey! The survey will be available to fill out in many different forms – online, in-person, at community events, and at special planning events!
