The Illinois Valley Community Connections Expo, held on October 12, 2024, brought together 40 local, regional, and state organizations to share resources and build meaningful relationships, helping strengthen the rural Illinois Valley community. With over 150 community members fed and engaged, the event was a resounding success, providing critical opportunities for both learning and connection.

The day kicked off with a successful networking session, allowing organizations to learn more about each other, collaborate and form partnerships that will enhance their ability to serve the Illinois Valley. Many participants expressed how these new connections will help them more effectively meet the needs of our rural community.

In addition to networking, attendees had the chance to participate in six workshop sessions covering a range of topics from “Journaling in Nature” to practical resources like “How to Access Energy Efficiency Upgrade Incentives.” These workshops provided valuable information and hands-on learning opportunities for the community.
