Something is building in the Illinois Valley.

Over the past year, IVCanDO secured a permanent home in Cave Junction — creating a long-term foundation for the work we do alongside our community.

Now, we’re moving into the next phase.

We are launching a community effort to build the IVCanDO Business Hub — a shared space designed to support small businesses, workforce training, remote work, and collaboration across the valley.

This isn’t just a renovation. It’s the next step in strengthening opportunity in the Illinois Valley.

The Illinois Valley has always been full of ideas, talent, and determination.

People are starting businesses. Learning new skills. Finding new ways to work and contribute to their community.

But one challenge continues to come up.

There isn’t always a place to do the work.

Affordable workspace is limited. Reliable internet can be hard to access. Professional meeting space isn’t always available.

And for many, those barriers can be the difference between an idea staying an idea — or becoming something real.

The IVCanDO Business Hub is designed to change that.

Below is a look at the current layout and how the space will begin to take shape.

We are transforming part of our building into a shared space where people can work, learn, collaborate, and grow.

The space will include room for trainings and community gatherings, coworking space for remote workers and freelancers, support for small businesses getting started, and affordable offices for local organizations.

These spaces will be available through free, reduced, or sliding-scale access whenever possible, because opportunity should not depend on what someone can afford to rent.

This project is rooted in what the community has already told us.

The Illinois Valley Community Strategic Plan identified two clear priorities: support for small businesses and stronger workforce development opportunities.

The Business Hub brings those priorities together in one place.

It creates a space where someone can attend a training, meet a mentor, work on their business, and connect with others who are doing the same.

This is also about connection.

IVCanDO’s role has always been to bring people together — to connect ideas with resources and neighbors with opportunity.

The Business Hub builds on that work by creating a physical space where those connections can happen every day.

As the project grows, additional space will allow for expanded programming, offices, and community use.

It will be a place where partnerships form naturally, where collaboration becomes easier, and where progress feels possible.

Momentum is already underway.

The building is here. The foundation is in place. The need is clear.

Now we are building what comes next.

And we’re inviting the community to be part of it.
