Each year, the Illinois Valley Community Development Organization’s board of directors hosts its General Membership Meeting during the first quarter of the calendar year. During the meeting, the board updates the membership on the organization’s projects as well as holds an election to fill board vacancies.
But the highlight of the meeting is when the board honors local residents for the work they’ve done to create a better community for all. Here are the past recipients of IVCDO awards:
Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Susan and Gino Menanno for planting over 800 trees at the Forks State Park and other accomplishments during the past 7 months while they served as park hosts.
Business of the Year award was presented to Daniel Fisher, co-owner of Bagel Junction and the newly opened Fanelli’s Italian Cuisine.
Organization of the Year award was presented to Maureen Connolly and Stacey Williams of YES (Youth Empowerment and Support) for their achievements in raising funds and facilitating construction of the Skate Park in Cave Junction.
IVCanDO Awards were bestowed posthumously to former Board Director Jack Walker and community organizer Barry Snitkin.
IVCanDO Award was presented to retiring Board Director Meadow Martell.
The Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Rev. Charles Chase & Dan McLeod.
Business of the Year award was presented to IV Data Center, owned by Cameron & Jessica Camp.
Organization of the Year award was presented to Lindsey Gillette of Healthy U.
IVCanDo Award was presented to retiring Board Director Willa Gustavson.
The Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Shelly Davis & Donny Lindall.
Business of the Year award was presented to Dani Bell of Chapman Creek Nursery.
Organization of the Year award was presented to Valley Girls Quilters.
Business of year for its continuing support and outstanding contributions to the Community: Sterling Savings Bank.
Volunteer of year: Suzanne Vautier
Volunteer of the Decade: John Plute for his work with the Kerby Water Project.
Service of Excellence: Robert Schumacher for his work with the IVCDO.
Business of the Year in recognition for continuing supoort and outstanding contributions to the Community: Taylors Sausage.
Volunteer of the Year: Lelo Kerivan for her work on raising funds to replace the ‘Welcome’ sign on Hayes Hill.
Outstanding Community Service: Marilyn Zieba.
Volunteer of the Year: Kenny Houck
Special Recognition Award: Tom Dunn, Al Devine and Jack Dwyer in appreciation for their six years of service to the community as IVCDO board members.
Volunteer of the Year: Sue Williams for her initiative and perseverance on the Forks Trail project.
Special Recognition Award: Bill Waggoner for his many years of service and leadership on the IVCDO Board of Directors.
Volunteer of the Year: Rebecca Pearson for the development of the Second Friday ArtWalk and support of the arts in the Illinois Valley.
Community Support Award: The Taylor family for their continued outstanding service to the Illinois Valley.
Business of the Year: Shop Smart grocery store for its continuing outstanding community service.
Volunteer of the year: Al Devine for his selfless service to the community.
Business of the Year: Oregon Caves Chevron and owner Jeff Stiles for outstanidng excellence in customer service.
Volunteer of the Year: Robert Litak for his work with the IVCDO’s Small Business Revolving Loan Fund.
Volunteer of the Year: Cheryl DeBrett for her assistance in the IVCRT office.
Community Building Award: Bill Bowling for his work as Revolving Loan Board chairman.
Board Volunteer of the Year: Charles DeBrett.
